About the American Bulldog
American Bulldogs are large, muscular dogs that stand 20 to 28 inches at the shoulder and weigh 60 to 130 pounds, with significant variation between the two main types. The Johnson (Classic) type is larger and more heavily built with a shorter muzzle, while the Scott (Standard) type is leaner and more athletic with a longer muzzle. Many modern American Bulldogs are a blend of both types.
